I wonder if it could be converted to an armed drone interceptor with MG or cannon (like the CJ-6B during the Cultural Revolution) and maybe some TY-90 or similar AAMs. I suspect most jet-propelled combat aircraft are too fast to intercept swarms of piston drones, and helicopters are expensive and themselves vulnerable to ramming by drones.

Conversely, CJ-6-based kamikaze drones would have the advantage of commonality in parts.
