Two J-35 and three J-15 at test site.

J-35 will be equipped with two WS-19, each with max thrust of 12 ton, giving J-35 max thrust of 24 tons. Max combat range claimed to be extended to 1250 km with ability to supercruise.

001 with J-35 model. Apparently not only CATOBAR 003 will field the J-35. STOBAR carriers 001 and 002 will also field J-35.

While Q Elizabeth, USMC LHD and Izumo retrofitted to carry F-35, they can only field STOVL variant F-35B. The J-35 equipped with WS-19 will be superior to the STOVL F-35B. Likely CV-16 will field one squadron of J-15 and J-35 each, while CV-17 could be two squadron J-35 and one squadron J-15, considering J-35 is not only one generation ahead, it’s also more space saving than J-15.

001 CG with J-35 and KJ-600. J-35 is without doubt, but if 001, 002 will be able to field KJ-600, it will be better equipped than Q Elizabeth, not to mention those LHD pretending to be carrier.

One more thing about the coast guard, recently a good number of ships based on the 054 were built for the coast guard, haven’t seen any new ship based on the 056. Some saying PLAN would transfer more 056 to coast guard while building 054A to replace those transferred. Not sure if this is true.
