hamas have probably been nervous looking at the development in the middle east these past few years with arab countries begin to court relationship with israel. Saudi Arabia is the red line for them. If Saudi Arabia establish diplomatic relationship with Israel, scores of non arab islamic countries could follow suit. I know Indonesia gov actually secretly wanting to do that, there are just so many economic benefits from that, but they just have no excuse to justify that to their people. If the guardian of islamic holy cities, Saudi Arabia, can establish relationship with Israel, that will be a good excuse, at least for a start.
